The SD42 Parent Portal allows parents/guardians to register their child for kindergarten, fill in school forms, sign off on field trips, receive timely school and school district communications, make secure payments online, and much more.
The portal was developed in response to the need for a more streamlined, paperless approach to communications between families and their child’s school. While the Parent Portal is not intended to replace face-to-face communications, it does offer an alternative to paper forms, long registration line-ups, and in-person cash payments.
In its current stage of development, the SD42 Parent Portal has the following capabilities:
- Timely communication of district and school announcements
- Consent and policy acceptance forms
- Field trip forms
- Athletic and school fees
- Online reporting
- Student literacy and numeracy dashboard
- Transportation registration and payments
- K-12 enrolment (registrations, transfers, withdrawals)
To register for the Parent Portal, go to and click on the Parent tab, then select New Parent Registration.
Once you have opened an account, you must link your child to this account. You can request a linking key and additional information about how to link your child to your Parent Portal account from your child’s school.
