A little gesture can go a long way.Â
That’s what a Grade 7 student in Maple Ridge is showing the community with displays of kindness far beyond his school’s walls.Â
LJ embarked on a project to spread cheer to people at the Salvation Army Ridge Meadows Ministries, where his mother works, for the month of February, also known as kindness month.
Kindness month culminates on Pink Shirt Day, the last Wednesday of the month, a day to show kindness towards others in a stance against bullying.Â
Over a period of two weeks, the 12-year-old Glenwood Elementary student made 35 cards with positive messages and compliments in each to give to people who use the Salvation Army’s services.
“I hope it brightens up their day,” said LJ, who believes it’s important to reach out to people because a lot of people need help.Â
